JACKSON -- Mrs. Lula M. Poe, 99, of Jackson, died Sunday, May 12, 1991, at Deal Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 17, 1891, in Bollinger County, daughter of George W. and Mahala K. Crites Cavaner. She married Marvin Poe May 30, 1914. He died June 19, 1975.
Poe has been a member of New McKendree Methodist Church since 1914, was a member of its Wesleyan Circle and life member of United Methodist Women.
She was a day care provider in her home for a number of years.
Survivors include two sons, L.E. "Pete" and J.W. "Bill" Poe of Jackson; a daughter, Mary Smith of Jackson; a sister, Hattie Jordan of Los Angeles, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty; a brother, sister and great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Otto Steinhaus officiating.
