ORAN, Mo. — Lula Mae Boshell, daughter of the late Melvin Cagle and Muriel Gay Woodson, was born April 1, 1952, in Dexter, Missouri, and departed her life Friday, July 28, 2023, at her home in Oran at the age of 71 years.
She was former medical records director at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri, and Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Lula was a member of First Baptist Church in Oran, where she was a Sunday school teacher, chairperson of nominating committee and secretary/treasurer of the Ministerial Alliance.
On Sept. 24, 1971, she was united in marriage to Michael Wayne Boshell in Morehouse, Missouri. He survives of the home.
Besides her husband, survivors include two sons, Larry (Angela) Boshell and Michael (Brandy) Boshell Jr., all of Oran; two brothers, Terry Cagle of Dexter and Tommy Cagle of Swansboro, North Carolina; one sister, Laura Ann Johnson of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Brittany Ward, Rylee Boshell, Hannah Boshell and Halle Boshell; two great-grandchildren, Jaiden Cowley and Xander Johnson; and other relatives and a host of friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Hunter Michael Boshell; and two brothers, Timmy Cagle and Larry Cagle.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
Funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at First Baptist Church in Oran, with the Rev. Donnie Ford officiating. Interment will follow in Friends Hill Cemetery in Oran.
