OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Lucy Matthews, 88, died Monday, Feb. 19, 1996, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 26, 1907, daughter of Sam and Mary Childers Levil. She and Everett L. Matthews were married May 23, 1925. He died April 13, 1983.

Matthews was a member of the Olive Branch United Methodist Church.

Survivors are a sister, Maxine Ogborn of Olive Branch, and a stepson, Charles Matthews of Herlong, Calif.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Thursday at the Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Olive Branch United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jesse Bellamy will officiate, with burial in the Olive Branch Cemetery.
