Lucy Marie Hardwick, 95, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 1994, at the Lutheran Home. She was born Jan. 11, 1899, in Fidelity Township, Jersey County, Ill., daughter of Adam and Mary Stewart Grizzle. She married Lester Moxey Dec. 22, 1915, in Jerseyville, Ill. He died Jan. 29, 1944. She later married Perry Hardwick in March 1954, in Carrollton, Ill. He died Oct. 12, 1964...

Lucy Marie Hardwick, 95, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 1994, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Jan. 11, 1899, in Fidelity Township, Jersey County, Ill., daughter of Adam and Mary Stewart Grizzle. She married Lester Moxey Dec. 22, 1915, in Jerseyville, Ill. He died Jan. 29, 1944. She later married Perry Hardwick in March 1954, in Carrollton, Ill. He died Oct. 12, 1964.

Hardwick was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Carrollton. She moved here in June 1989 from Carrollton.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Kenneth Moxey of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Edith Richie of Jerseyville; four brothers, Ray Grizzle of Eldred, Ill., D.C., Paul and Harry Grizzle of Carrollton; two sisters, Eathel Greenwood of Kane, Ill., Tossie Hildred of Jerseyville; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and granddaughter.

Friends may call at Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton from 4-8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodburn Cemetery near Bunker Hill, Ill.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. There is no visitation or service here.
