BELL CITY -- Lucy Holyfield, 82, died Sunday, March 17, 1996, at Russellville, Ark., while visiting her sister and daughter.

She was born Dec. 17, 1913, near Russellville, the daughter of William David and Margaret Mathis Rackley. On Sept. 6, 1932, she married Orval Holyfield. He died Nov. 14, 1989.

Holyfield was a resident of Bell City since 1957 and was a member of the Assembly of God Church there.

Survivors include five sons, O.V. Holyfield of Pinckneyville, Ill., Rayburn Holyfield of Grafton, William Thomas Holyfield of Bell City, David Holyfield of Bloomfield and Roy Allen Holyfield of Anchorage, Alaska; five daughters, Lou Etta Clark of Wright City, Joyce Staggs of Horn Lake, Miss., Emma Hedrick of Russellville, Barbara Townsend of Dexter and Jane Pickrell of Indianapolis; a sister, Annie Reed of Atkins, Ark.; 28 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lynn Ash officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
