FROHNA, Mo. — Lucille L. Schlichting, 92, of Frohna (Wittenberg) died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, at Independence Care Center in Perryville, Missouri.
She was born July 11, 1927, in Farrar, Missouri, to Martin and Hedwig “Hattie” Mangels Schuessler. Lucille and Vernon G. Schlichting were married Oct. 8, 1950, at Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar. He preceded her in death April 19, 2016.
Lucille was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, quilting and crafts. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, Missouri, St. Paul’s College Guild, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Lutheran Braille Workers, a Sunday school teacher, Church Choirs, CTLS PTL and Golden Agers.
Survivors include her four daughters and one son, Connie (Terry) Clampitt of Marion, Illinois, Eileen Schlichting of Cape Girardeau, Donna (Dennis) Hecht of Frohna, Gary Schlichting of Frohna (Wittenberg) and Eunice Schlichting of Frohna (Wittenberg); four grandsons, Jason Hecht of Frohna, Matthew (Jessica) Hecht of Altenburg, Matthew (Chelsea) Clampitt of Marion and Jonathan Hecht of Nashville, Tennessee; two great-grandsons, Jacoby Hecht and Henry Clampitt; two great-granddaughters, Makara Lucille Hecht and Amelia Lucille Clampitt; one sister-in-law, Neoma Schuessler of Perryville; and one brother-in-law, Bernard Schlichting of Frohna. Also survived by numerous nephews and nieces and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, half sister, brothers, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Erna and Henry Hadler, Erwin and Erna Schuessler, Edgar Schuessler, Elmer and Lorene Schuessler, Melvin and Evelyn Schuessler, Wilbert and Elsie Schuessler, Hilmer Schuessler, Vernold and Velma Schuessler, Milton and Dixie Schuessler, Edna and Elmer Lichtenegger, Otto and Martha Schlichting, Mabel Guth and Arleen Schlichting; and several nephews and nieces.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ford and Young East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with the Rev. Steven Dressler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
