PERRYVILLE -- Lucille Laura Abernathy, 83, of Perryville, died Monday, Oct. 3, 1994, at her home. She was born Sept. 16, 1911, at Perryville, daughter of James W. and Clara Schulte Lyle. She and Thelburn Abernathy were married April 15, 1930. He died June 21, 1972...

PERRYVILLE -- Lucille Laura Abernathy, 83, of Perryville, died Monday, Oct. 3, 1994, at her home.

She was born Sept. 16, 1911, at Perryville, daughter of James W. and Clara Schulte Lyle. She and Thelburn Abernathy were married April 15, 1930. He died June 21, 1972.

Abernathy was retired from International Shoe Co. She was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church and Perry County Extension Club.

Survivors include two sons, Glennon Abernathy of Brewer, Kenneth Abernathy of Perryville; Betty Hager of Bakersfield, Calif.; two sisters, Edith Preston of Perryville, Mildred Cavallini of Fullerton, Calif.; seven grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, and 6:30-9:45 a.m. Friday. The wake will be at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
