Lucille E. Haynes, 80, of Whitewater passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at her home.
She was born Aug. 21, 1922, south of Whitewater, daughter of John and Clara Ulrich Thoma. She and James "Rex" Haynes were married Feb. 25, 1943, in Cape Girardeau.
During World War II Lucille worked at Carter Carburetor in St. Louis. She and Rex resided in St. Louis until 1984 when they moved to Whitewater.
In 1985 they became members of Whitewater United Methodist Church, where Lucille was active in UMW. She was a member of Whitewater Eastern Star and was a past worthy matron. She received her 50-year pin in 2001. She was also active in Delta Senior Citizens.
Loving survivors include her husband, Rex, and a son, Robert "Bob" Haynes, both of Whitewater.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Tom Zych will officiate. Interment will be in Whitewater Methodist Cemetery.
