Lucille "NaNa" Alice Barnhouse Gamblin DeLisle, 92, of Jackson died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Ms. DeLisle was born Aug. 28, 1915, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., and was the daughter of Harry M. and Minnie Alice Guentzel Barnhouse. She and Emery Alvin Gamblin were married Aug. 5, 1934, in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Gamblin died Jan. 5, 1965. She then married Guy DeLisle on Feb. 14, 1966, in Jackson, and he died Feb. 15, 1968...

Lucille "NaNa" Alice Barnhouse Gamblin DeLisle, 92, of Jackson died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Ms. DeLisle was born Aug. 28, 1915, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., and was the daughter of Harry M. and Minnie Alice Guentzel Barnhouse. She and Emery Alvin Gamblin were married Aug. 5, 1934, in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Gamblin died Jan. 5, 1965. She then married Guy DeLisle on Feb. 14, 1966, in Jackson, and he died Feb. 15, 1968.

Ms. DeLisle grew up in Poplar Bluff. In 1932 she was the second runner-up in the Miss Missouri pageant and the state champion in the shot put and discus in high school. She was associated with "Ruth's" exclusive ladies ready-to-wear clothing during the 1940s and 1950s in Poplar Bluff. She was very active with the Poplar Bluff Girl Scouts.

Ms. DeLisle moved to Cape Girardeau in 1984 and was one of the original owners of The Petite New Orleans Restaurant, with her brother, Richard Barnhouse. She had farming interests in New Madrid County and was a world traveler. In 2004 she moved to Jackson to be closer to her family. Ms. DeLisle was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Parish.

Survivors include a daughter, Boni Alice Gamblin Johns of Jackson; two grandchildren, Curt A. Johns and his wife, Penny, Cleo E. Johns Jr. and his wife, Joyce, all of Jackson; three great-grandchildren, Cory Johns, Molly Johns, Jordan Johns, all of Jackson; two nieces, Judy Davis of Cape Girardeau, Mary Francis Ferguson of Chesterfield, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother and an aunt, Henrietta "Auntie" Guentzel Cain.

There will be no visitation.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at St. Mary Cathedral with the Revs. Tom Kiefer, Scott Sunnenberg and Monsignor Richard Rowling officiating.

Entombment will be at Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Cathedral Parish.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
