Lucille C. Schaefer, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 28, 1991, at the Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.
She was born Aug. 7, 1901, at Commerce, the daughter of Felix and Mary Adams Thomure. On Nov. 24, 1921, she married Edward A. Schaefer in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death March 22, 1976.
She was a lifetime resident of Cape Girardeau and worked many years ago for the Giboney Houck family. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and also a member of the Cathedral Ladies.
Survivors include two sons, James Schaefer of Jerseyville, Ill. and Gerald Schaefer of Fort Smith, Ark.; a daughter, Mrs. Judy Griffaw of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Bertha Case of Maplewood; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A brother, sister, son, daughter and two grandchildren also preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel, where parish prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday, July 1, 1991 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Msgr. Richard Rolwing will officiate, and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
