SIKESTON -- Funeral for Lucile Mount will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church. Dr. Jim Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Sikeston City Cemetery.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 6:30-8 p.m. today.
Mount, 92, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.
She was born July 31, 1907, at Morehouse, daughter of Frank E. and Nellie C. Short Mount.
Mount received a bachelor's degree from Western State in Bowling Green, Ky. She was a teacher with the Sikeston Public School System 47 years, and was a second sponsor of Future Teachers of America.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. She received the Rev. M.G. and Myra Joyce Christian Education and Evangelism Award in 1988.
Mount was a member and past worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 137, sponsored Job's Daughters; and was a member of Missouri State Teachers Association, Scott County Teachers Association, and Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Gallivan of New Madrid, and Carrie Hancock of Winter Garden, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
