LOYD DICKERSON

DEXTER, Mo. -- Loyd Eugene Dickerson, 78, of Dexter died Friday, July 13, 2001, at Missouri Southern Healthcare.

He was born April 12, 1923, at Dexter, son of Arthur Lee and Opha McCollough Dickerson. He and Lela M. Lane were married May 8, 1943, at Dexter.

Dickerson retired from General Motors in St. Louis. He was a member of Dexter Elks Lodge 2439.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Loyd Dickerson of Winfield, Mo.; three daughters, Shirley Pyles of Dexter, Jean Gowen of Albuquerque, N.M., Linda Thompson of St. Charles, Mo.; two sisters, Beulah Werrbach of Dundee, Ill., Elsie Estenson of Vista, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, and three brothers.

Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clifford Wray officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery at Essex, Mo.
