EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Loyce D. Johnston, East Prairie Route 1, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel. Larry Smith will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery.
Johnston, 69, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1993, at his home.
He was born June 23, 1924, in Hickman, Ky., son of Lexie B. and Iva McClendon Johnston. He and Mildred Louise Babb were married March 8, 1952.
Johnston was employed by Sam Tanksley Trucking Inc. in Cape Girardeau for 28 years, 10 of which he was terminal manager in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Rickey Johnston of Jackson; three daughters, Susan Morris and Melissa Kirby of East Prairie, Kathryn Linley of Chesterton, Ind.; three brothers, Medwick, Malcome and Bryant Johnston of East Prairie; three sisters, Florence Laramie of Florissant, Edith Moore of Murray, Ky., Imogene Gulledge of St. Johns, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, brother and two sisters.
