Lowen Hughes Cattron, 80, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 28, 1933, in Taskee, Mo., son of William H. and Edith E. Smith Cattron. He and Clara Jean Burton were married Aug. 29, 1952, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She passed away July 12, 2011.

Lowen was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School and completed HVAC training at the vocational school in Sikeston, Mo. For years he was a machine shop foreman for Jim Wilson Co. in Cape Girardeau, and retired as a boiler operator from Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 2652 in Jackson.

Loving survivors include a daughter, Brenda (Barry) Hensley of Jackson; two sons, Terry Cattron and Randy (Janet) Cattron of Jackson; four grandchildren, Jessica (Regan) Cattron Swan of Jackson, Leni (Matthew) Fluegge Lambdin of Wolf Lake, Ill., and Casey Cattron and Carlie Cattron of Jackson; three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Peyton Hahs and Emma Lambdin; three step-grandchildren, Sarah Fluegge Geringer, Erin Fluegge-Woolf and Daniel Hensley; a brother, Orville Cattron of Arnold, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Pat Burton of Conroe, Texas, and Kathryn Barnhill of Springfield, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a young sister, Dorothy Cattron.

Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. An Elks service will be at 3:30 p.m.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Conn officiating. Interment will be in Apple Creek Presbyterian Cemetery in Pocahontas.

Memorials may be made to Apple Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Pocahontas or the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
