STURDIVANT -- Lovie Powell, 82, of Malden, formerly of Sturdivant, died Tuesday, May 25, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 9, 1910, at Dorena, daughter of Arthur and Nancy Celina Brown Williams. She married Joseph Powell, who died Jan. 17, 1993.
Powell owned and operated a retail store near Advance, and was a member of Kimball First Southern Baptist Church at Malden.
Survivors include four daughters, LaWanda Jordan of Sikeston, Frankie Aters of Plano, Ill., Norma Moore and Marilyn Cooper of Malden; a brother, Ralph Williams of East Prairie; 17 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, brother and three sisters.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The Rev. Gene Lancaster will officiate, with burial in Morgan Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. today.
