Helen Louise Johns, 93, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, March 28, 2011, at Ratliff Care Center. She was born Aug. 18, 1917, daughter of Frank and Viola Moss Beard. She and Norman Johns were married Dec. 11, 1941, in Corning, Ark. He preceded her in death in September 1979...

Helen Louise Johns, 93, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, March 28, 2011, at Ratliff Care Center.

She was born Aug. 18, 1917, daughter of Frank and Viola Moss Beard. She and Norman Johns were married Dec. 11, 1941, in Corning, Ark. He preceded her in death in September 1979.

She is survived by two sons, Norman (Alora) Johns Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo., Bill (Nancy) Johns of Oak Ridge; seven grandchildren, Rob (Trudy) Johns, Debbie (Jose) Melendez, Christy (Jeff) Lewis, Liz (Ted) Weiser, Ben (Libby) Johns, Bill Johns II, Robin Strop, 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cape County Memorial Park, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
