JONESBORO, Ill. -- Louise Rogers Hodge, 86, of Metropolis, Ill., died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at the Metropolis Rehab Center.
She was born Aug. 22, 1917, to A.R. and Ola Cleaver Rogers. She was a beautician and operated a shop in McClure, Ill., and worked as a cook on a riverboat.
She married Howard Hodge in 1975, and he died Nov. 5, 1997. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Metropolis.
Survivors include her mother-in-law, Mildred Hodge of Metropolis; six sisters, Marie Held, Annie Blaylock, Jean Moss all of Anna, Ill., Leoda Watkins of Ware, Ill., Wilma Colyer of McClure, Doris Jobe of Virginia; and a brother, Buddy Rogers of Sun City, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and brother.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Deem officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery.
