Louise Gockel, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Dec. 6, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born Oct. 2, 1915, at Egypt Mills, daughter of O.J. Miller and Clara Jewel Bray Miller. She married Leon H. Gockel Dec. 21, 1935. He died in November 1978...

Louise Gockel, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Dec. 6, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 2, 1915, at Egypt Mills, daughter of O.J. Miller and Clara Jewel Bray Miller.

She married Leon H. Gockel Dec. 21, 1935. He died in November 1978.

She was a member of the Third Street United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Terry Gockel of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, George "Bud" S. Miller of Pasadena, Texas, Edison Miller of Neelys Landing; and one sister, Marie Wells of Decatur, Ill.

One brother preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Lorimier Cemetery.
