GIDEON, Mo. -- Louise Krueger French, 94, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at Gideon. She was born June 12, 1908, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Louis and Helen Jaeger Krueger. She married Donald Inman French on Dec. 6, 1930, in Marion, Ark. He preceded her in death Nov. 5, 1989...

GIDEON, Mo. -- Louise Krueger French, 94, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at Gideon.

She was born June 12, 1908, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Louis and Helen Jaeger Krueger. She married Donald Inman French on Dec. 6, 1930, in Marion, Ark. He preceded her in death Nov. 5, 1989.

Louise graduated from Cape Central High School and played on the girl's basketball team. Attending Southeast Missouri State University, she received her B.S. in education and her master's from St. Louis University. She taught school in Gideon. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. While being a member of the Gideon Women's Club, she helped establish the Gideon Library. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 3838 of Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include grandchildren Francesca McConnell of Franklin, Tenn., and Donald Brendan French of Memphis, Tenn., and daughter-in-law Jeanie French of Dexter, Mo.

Also surviving are: sister-in-law Dorothy Krueger Points of Cape Girardeau; nephews and wives Joseph and Julie Krueger of Cape Girardeau and Ted and Shirley Krueger of Oak Ridge, Mo.; nieces and husbands Elizabeth and Darrell Billham of Charleston, S.C., Carol and Del Adams of Walland, Tenn., and Katherine and Kent Tolson of Cobden, Ill.; and schoolteacher friend Marjorie Lingle of Jonesboro, Ill.

She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Bruce French; a brother and sister-in-law, Theodore Roosevelt and Emily Krueger; a sister, Helen Krueger; and a brother, Joseph William Krueger, all of Cape Girardeau.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Morgan officiating. Burial followed at the Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
