SIKESTON, Mo. -- Louise L. Cates, 83, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born April 11, 1925, in Savannah, Tenn., daughter of Marvin and Ethel Ables Baugus. She was a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

She and William Thomas "Bill" Cates were married Aug. 20, 1944, in Oceola, Ark. He died Aug. 16, 1991.

Survivors include two daughters, Pat Schuerenberg of Matthews, Mo., and Nancy Withrow of Sikeston; a brother, C.A. Baugus of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Ray Baugus.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ponder Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
