MARBLE HILL -- Louisa "Millie" Brown, 56, of Marble Hill, formerly of Mounds, Ill., died Sunday, July 16, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 16, 1918, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of Clyde Marian and Ima Mae Mangrum Stratton.

She married Jerry Lee Layton, who died Nov. 23, 1969. She later married Dennie Franklin Brown, who died May 8, 1973.

Brown formerly worked at Lee-Rowan Wire Co. in Jackson.

Survivors are two sons, Jerry Layton Sr. of Cairo, Ill., and Steven Martin of Mesa, Wash.; three daughters, Melissa Bradbury of Marble Hill, Loretta Brown of Chillicothe, and Joy "Dee" Leek of Mounds; a brother, W.B. "Pete" Stratton of Arlington, Ky.; three sisters, Carol Jean Eizenga of Camanche, Iowa, Cecelia Gibson of Steger Ill., and Mary Koehler of LaCenter, Ky.; and 11 grandchildren.

Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, Ill.

Memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ernest Browning officiating. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Owens Chapel Cemetery near Milburn, Ky.
