CHAFFEE - Louis O. Gilmer, 77, of 128 Wright in Chaffee, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1993 at St. Francis Medical Center.

Gilmer was born Sept. 7, 1916 in Chaffee, the son of William Oscar Gilmer and Myrtle Flora Toler. On Dec. 23, 1936 he married Marietta Mantel, who survives.

In June of 1979 he retired as an engineer for Frisco Railroad. He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Cape Girardeau, was a member of the Chaffee Masonic Lodge #615, a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner in the St. Louis Scottish Rite, a member of the Capaha Antique Car Club, and was a retired fireman for the city of Chaffee.

Survivors include: one son, Ron Gilmer of New Orleans; three daughters, Patty Davis of Cedar Hill, Judy Millham of St. Louis, and Linda Little of Chaffee; one sister, Lillian Lamb of Macon, Ga.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with Rev. Gray Brothers and Rev. Arvil Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
