OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Louis Wayne Maze, 80, of Olive Branch died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at his home. He was born June 30, 1933, in Tamms, Ill., son of Jonah and Dallzey Dunn Maze. He was married to Doris Ammons 38 years. Louis was a member of the Horseshoe Lake Chamber of Commerce, and served two terms as county commissioner. He was owner and operator of Louis Motors. OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Louis Wayne Maze, 80, of Olive Branch died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at his home.

He was born June 30, 1933, in Tamms, Ill., son of Jonah and Dallzey Dunn Maze. He was married to Doris Ammons 38 years.

Louis was a member of the Horseshoe Lake Chamber of Commerce, and served two terms as county commissioner. He was owner and operator of Louis Motors. He previously worked as a truck driver and deputy at the Alexander County Courthouse.

He served his country honorably more than 20 years in the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean and Vietnam wars.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Maze; his children, Michael, David, Danny, Gary and Paul Maze and Judy Wanner; Doris' children, Kay Emeson, Karen O'Connor and Debbie Julich; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Beatrice Sronce.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Roger Maze; Doris' son, Bill Sumerour; a brother, Bob Dillman; and his stepfather, Roy Dillman.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Maze officiating. Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
