EAST PRAIRIE -- Louis Leland Whitlock, 82, of East Prairie, died Friday, April 30, 1993, at the John J. Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born June 9, 1910, at Wyatt, Mo., son of Henry Thomas and Gertie Keeton Whitlock.
Whitlock married Elva Suits in 1937. She died in 1979.
He has lived in Mississippi County all of his life, where he was a retired farmer.
Whitlock served in the U.S. Army; he was a veteran of World War II.
He was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Frankie Aters of Plano, Ill., four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Dogwood Cemetery in East Prairie, with Bro. Roy Blumenberg officiating.
