CHARLESTON -- Louis Krauss, 80, of Charleston, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 1995, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 2, 1915, at Bertrand, son of William M. and Nellie Atkins Krauss. He and Lillian Beatrice Winders were married June 2, 1934. She preceded him in death May 17, 1950.
Krauss lived his entire life in Mississippi County. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include a son, Johnny Krauss of Festus; four daughters, Joan Hutchason of East Prairie, Nancy Barnes of Park Hills, Betty Ferrie of Lake Havasue City, Ariz., and Aline Haley of Charleston; a brother, Charlie Krauss of Sikeston; two sisters, Blanche Bowman of Wyatt and Nell Laughlin of California; 16 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral chapel. The Revs. Burl Britt and Mike Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
