Louis P. Davis, 83, of Oak Ridge went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Louis P. Davis, 83, of Oak Ridge went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Blodgett, Mo., son of Louis B. and Ethel (Gettings) Davis. He and Rosemary (McClard) Davis were married Sept. 11, 1980, at Cape Girardeau.

He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Millersville. He was in various quartets in the area and loved gospel music. He spent his life as a carpenter.

Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Rosemary (McClard) Davis; four sons, Louis K. (Bo) Davis of St. Charles, Mo., Keith (Debbie) Bode of Barrington, Ill., Kevin (Marilyn) Bode of Frisco, Texas, and Kerry Bode of Allen, Texas; four daughters, Joyce (Ron) Blackwell of St. Charles, Lois Pappedemos of Union, Mo., Kristi (Kendall) Bowers of Cape Girardeau, and Beth (Glenn) Roberts of Jackson; one brother, Eugene Davis of Houston; and two sisters, Juanita Fellows of St. Louis and Wanda Davis of Advance, Mo. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a grandchild, Jacob Bowers.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. todayat Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Daniel Hale and Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Millersville Building Fund.
