ESSEX -- Louis H. Barber, 75, of Essex, died Wednesday, May 29, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Dec. 19, 1920, in Clarksville, Ark., son of Ike and Stella Mae Stepp Barber. He and Juanita Peppers were married Jan. 16, 1946, in Piggott, Ark.
Barber served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James Barber of Gray Ridge; two daughters, Carolyn Wastbusky of Sikeston, Sharon Benthal of Portageville; six brothers, Gerald Barber of Dexter, Eugene Barber of Poplar Bluff, James Barber of Essex, Seaburn Barber of Sikeston, Bob Barber of Morehouse, Clinton Barber of Charter Oak; a sister, Avis Hupp of Sikeston, and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wayne Tribble officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery at Essex.
