CHAFFEE -- Louis Anton Kirn, 85, of Chaffee died Saturday, May 10, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Nov. 1, 1911, in Jackson, son of Joseph and Minnie Werth Kirn. He was a farmer and worker at Thorngate for 10 years before retiring in 1976. He married Luella Winkler on Oct. 5, 1937. She died March 28, 1997.
He was a member of the Legion of Mary Aux and St. Ambrose Men's Club.
He is survived by two sons, Richard Kirn of Kelso and Larry Kirn of Chaffee; seven daughters, Barbara Schmittzehe of Cape Girardeau, Jane Kluesner of Jackson, Evelyn Stovall of Moscow Mills, Charlene Koop of Columbia, Donna Sadler and Debbie Mirley, both of Chaffee, and Geralyn Bailey of Houston, Texas; a brother, Henry Kirn of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Clara Schwepker of Dutchtown and Edna Burford of Benton; 26 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a great-grandchild, five brothers, three sisters and a half-sister.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee where parish prayers will be said at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
