Louie Hirschowitz

ORAN, Mo. -- The Oran Ministerial Alliance is hosting a time of prayer, memories and song honoring Louie J. Hirschowitz.

The event, open to the public, will be held at 2 p.m. April 29 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church. Speakers representing the city and Scott County will join other invited guests in remembering Hirschowitz.

Hirschowitz, 89, of Oran died Friday, March 30, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He served as mayor of Oran for three terms, and was Scott County commissioner and presiding commissioner 16 years.
