SCOTT CITY -- Louanna McClure, 65, of Scott City died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997, at her home.
She was born Feb. 18, 1932, at Thebes, Ill.
She moved to the Puxico area several years ago.
She married Dean McClure in 1954. He died on Oct. 4, 1968.
She and her husband started the Puxico Press newspaper in their home in 1967. They sold the newspaper to her sister and brother-in-law, Alice and J.D. Hodge.
Survivors include four sons, Ronnie, Chuck, Dale and Kenneth McClure of Puxico; a daughter, Debbie Lewis of Puxico; three brothers, Jay Hoover of Olympia, Wash., Charley Hoover of Cape Girardeau and Fred Hoover of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three sisters, Clara Prass and Mary Simms of Scott City, and Alice Hodge of Puxico; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Morgan Sifford Funeral Home in Puxico. The Rev. Marshall Link will officiate, with burial in the Puxico City Cemetery.
