CAPE GIRARDEAU - Lottie N. Sams, 77, of 611 South West End Blvd., died Saturday, Dec. 15, 1990 at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born June 14, 1913 in Basthrop, Texas, to Lee and Gem Moncure Simmons.

She had worked as an EKG technician at Southeast Hospital for over 20 years, retiring in 1983. In addition, she worked as an office worker and bookkeeper for 25 years in Utah.

On Dec. 29, 1941, she married Arthur M. Sams at Galveston, Texas. He died Oct. 9, 1983.

She was a member of the East Cape Baptist Church in McClure, Ill. and the Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include brothers Ben and Earnest Simmons of Basthrop, Texas; a sister, Anne Jataine of Corpus Christi, Texas; nieces Sue LaBruyere of Cape Girardeau and Margaret Westergren of Corpus Christi; and a nephew, Bruce Vick of McClure, Ill.

Funeral services will be held today at 10 a.m. at the East Cape Baptist Church, with the Rev. Raymond Oxford presiding. Burial will be in Casper Cemetery in Anna, Ill.

Friends may call at Ford & Sons Funeral Home, Sprigg Street Chapel, after 8 a.m. today and after 9 a.m. at the East Cape Baptist Church.
