MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Lorraine Vivian Krekel, 82, of Marble Hill passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at Heartland Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 9, 1926, at Shrum, Mo., daughter of Joseph C. and Nora Long Shrum. She and the Rev. Perry L. Krekel were married Oct. 19, 1946, in St. Louis. He preceded her in death June 22, 2008.
Krekel was a member of Plainview Congregational Methodist Church for many years.
She is survived by a son, David Krekel and wife Kathy of Shelley, Idaho; a sister, Inez Armstrong of Lake City, Fla.; a brother, Peyton Shrum of Campbell, Mo.; four grandchildren, Catherine Wernow and husband Larry of LaMesa, Calif., Alexis Krekel of Shelley, Heidi Morrison and husband Richard of Tilden, Ill., Ben Surdyk of Tilden; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Gail Surdyk; and a brother, Milton Shrum.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Community Cemetery.
