JONESBORO, Ill. -- Lorn S. Johnson, 81, of Metropolis, Ill., died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at Southgate Health Care Center in Metropolis.
He was born Jan. 4, 1923, in Cypress, Ill., son of Adam and Dollie Alexander Johnson. He and Bertha G. Helm were married June 26, 1943, at Caruthersville, Mo. She died Feb. 17, 1975. He and Kathryn Land were married in 1978 in Jackson.
Johnson was a mechanic at Atlas Plastics and was a pastor. He was a member of Conran Baptist Church. He was formerly of Jonesboro.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Lorna Jackson of New York, Yvette Johnson of Idaho; a brother, Clyde Johnson of Leasburg, Mo.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call at Hileman Funeral Home from 1 p.m. today until time of service.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tim Abanathy officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
