Loris B. Robbins, 80, of Cape Girardeau went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, after a battle with Alzheimer's. She was born April 23, 1928, in Flat River, Mo., daughter of Simon Harrison and Ada Alice Huffman Benton. She married Craig Jeffrey Priest. She later married Harlan Hubert Spinks. He preceded her in death Nov. 11, 1969. She then married Basil Harold Robbins, who preceded her in death July 15, 2001...

Loris B. Robbins, 80, of Cape Girardeau went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, after a battle with Alzheimer's.

She was born April 23, 1928, in Flat River, Mo., daughter of Simon Harrison and Ada Alice Huffman Benton. She married Craig Jeffrey Priest. She later married Harlan Hubert Spinks. He preceded her in death Nov. 11, 1969. She then married Basil Harold Robbins, who preceded her in death July 15, 2001.

Mrs. Robbins worked at Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau and Chaffee, Mo., and was an Avon representative. She was an officer in the Order of Eastern Star in Lewiston, Idaho, and was past president of the VFW Auxiliary in Marble Hill, Mo.

Mrs. Robbins lived most of her life in Leopold, Mo. She traveled with her husband, Harold Robbins, and helped him with his work in the construction business. After leaving this business, they settled back in Leopold and built the At the Cross Church and pastored the church as well.

Survivors include a son, Leemon Mitchell (Elaine) Priest of Fruitland; two daughters, Penny Sue (Randy) Ross and Ada Elaine (Tom) Ramsey of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harlan Hubert Spinks and Basil Harold Robbins; three brothers, Lolon, Leelon and Leemon Benton; and a sister, Leema Burns.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Nimmo officiating. Burial will be in Barks Chapel Cemetery at Crump.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Crown Hospice.
