Loretta Marie Haupt, 94, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born June 30, 1919, in New Hamburg, Mo., to Louis M. and Mary M. Miederhoff Halter. She and John Albert Haupt were married April 25, 1945, at Chaffee, Mo. He passed away June 18, 1991.
They farmed in the Egypt Mills area more than 50 years. She moved to Cape Girardeau in 2012. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret (James) Moore of Kansas City, Mo., and Susan (Mike) Jaco of Whitewater; four sons, Don (Fran) Haupt and David (Karen) Haupt of Cape Girardeau, Charles (Shirley) Haupt of Lone Jack, Mo., and Dan Haupt of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Rita (Cletus) Lux of Benton, Mo., and Rosemary Hendrickson of New Hamburg; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Stephen Paul Haupt on Dec. 12, 2009; three brothers; and a sister.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., followed by the rosary.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Bobby Manso officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
