CHARLESTON -- Laura Loretta Bond, 82, of Sikeston Convalescent Center died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Aug. 8, 1917, at Oran, daughter of Howard and Laura Annie Owensby Levan. She and Clyde Raymond Bond were married Jan. 23, 1955. He died Sept. 23, 1977.
Bond lived in Charleston most of her life. She had been a waitress at the original Russell Hotel Cafe. She attended Restored Apostolic Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert Carter of Ohio; a stepdaughter, Clarice Lambert of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; a brother, Bud Levan of East Prairie; a sister, Ruby Baker of East Prairie; and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
There is no visitation or funeral.
An anatomical gift of her body has been made to Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
