Lorene Thompson

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Lorene M. Thompson, 91, of Perryville died July 3, 2016, at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville.

She was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Uniontown, Missouri, daughter of Theodore Paul and Margaretha (Wittichieven) Mueller. She and Ralph Eugene Thompson were married Dec. 16, 1944. He preceded her in death April 26, 2003.

She had been a homemaker. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Concordia Ladies Aid, Berean Bible Class, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, American Legion Post 133 Ladies Auxiliary, Ladies Social Club and charter member of Perryville Garden Club.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter, Barry (Pat) Thompson and Tom (Jan) Thompson, all of St. Louis, and Margaret (David) Yates of Millersville; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one infant great-granddaughter, Haley; and five sisters, Ruth Oswald, Florence Richter, Dorothy Koch, Lucille Schaefer and Alice Vogel.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m Wednesday and from 6:30 to 8:15 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church or American Heart Association.
