Lorene Horrell, 90, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 20, 1917, in Jackson, daughter of Henry "Bud" Clemons Koehler and Mary Belle Baugh Koehler. She and John V. Horrell Sr. were married Feb. 6, 1934, in Jackson. He passed away April 6, 1994.
Lorene was born and raised in Jackson. She and John were happily married for 60 years. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church, St. Ann Sodality, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary No. 6405 and the Ladies Quilting Club.
Loving survivors include three sons, John C. (Liz) Horrell, Pat (Judy) Horrell and Jim (Karen) Horrell, all of Jackson, and a sister, Opal Scherer of Cape Girardeau. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Kluesner, who passed away in 1998; five brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15 at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson with Parish Prayer being held at 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson, with Msgr. Edward Eftink officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
