Addie Lorene "Sweetie" Hoffmeister, 96, of Jackson died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born on Aug. 2, 1909, in Fornfelt, Mo., daughter of John and Lula Vancil Mabrey. She and Lawrence "Jack" Hoffmeister were married June 22, 1929. He died June 26, 1986.
Hoffmeister was co-owner and operator of Wibs Drive-In in Jackson from 1949 to 1975. She was a graduate of Fornfelt High School.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and the church's WMU. She was the pianist for the Sunday school and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter 91 in Jackson.
Survivors include two daughters, Jackie Boudinot of Jackson and Pat Baker of Bolivar, Mo.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Jackson. The Rev. Carter Frey will officiate.
Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
