Georgia "Lorene" Heaton, 87, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born Oct. 3, 1925, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of John H. "Mon" and Ada Jones James.
She was a graduate of Cape Girardeau High School, attended Cape Beauty School and became a licensed beautician. Lorene worked at Procter & Gamble, retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Loving survivors include two daughters, Jo Ellen Heaton of Arnold, Mo., and Donna (Rick) McDonald of Cape Girardeau; and her son, Brad (Tava) Heaton of Cape Girardeau. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Burt Reynolds, Chad Reynolds, Erica Morgan, Jessica Simmons, Megan McDonald and Munn Heaton; and four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Connor and Jensen Reynolds and Dakota Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and four sisters, Pat Bodenschatz, Lillian Hobbs, Dorothy Sanders and Alta Heisserer.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with lay minister Jim Hicks officiating.
Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may be made to March of Dimes.
