SIKESTON -- Lorene G. Evans, 81, of Sikeston died Monday, Oct. 20, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born Feb. 17, 1916, at Bell City, daughter of Everett and Edna McIntosh Link. She and Charlie Ray Evans were married April 9, 1938. He died Aug. 26, 1969...

SIKESTON -- Lorene G. Evans, 81, of Sikeston died Monday, Oct. 20, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 17, 1916, at Bell City, daughter of Everett and Edna McIntosh Link. She and Charlie Ray Evans were married April 9, 1938. He died Aug. 26, 1969.

Evans had been a cook at Blodgett and Benton elementary schools, and at Two-Tony's Restaurant. She was a member of Miner Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Judi Thatcher of Sikeston; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, a grandson, four brothers, and four sisters.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Mitchell Jackson officiating. Burial will be in North Antioch Cemetery near Bloomfield.
