POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Lorene Christian, 90, of Poplar Bluff passed away Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.
Lorene, the daughter of the late William Henry and Josie Wheeler Hubbard, was born Dec. 25, 1925, in Briar, Missouri.
She was an active member of First Church of God and was a homemaker.
Lorene was also active in the Gideons International and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her church family.
She was married to Murl Christian on Feb. 17, 1956, in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death.
Lorene is survived by four sons, Michael Lynn (Shirley) Christian of Ellsinore, Missouri, Allen Murl (Nancy) Christian and David Lee Christian of Cape Girardeau and Joseph Shawn (Leslie) Christian of Arlington, Tennessee; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Lorene also was preceded in death by five sisters and five brothers.
The visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Church of God, with the Rev. Scott Andrews officiating.
Burial will follow in the Woodlawn section of the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
