Lorena Hunt

Lorena Marie Hunt, 80, of Commerce passed away peacefully Monday, May 27, 2024, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St Louis.

Lorena was born April 10, 1944, in Risco to Albert and Gladys Jones Vincent.

She grew up in Commerce, but the family later moved to Centralia, Illinois. She graduated from Sunnydale Academy in Centralia in 1962. After graduation, she began working in insurance in St Louis. She continued that vocation, traveling to many places, until she retired. She then moved back home to Commerce.

On Jan. 3, 2005, she married the love of her life, Lyle Eugene Hunt, in Jackson. He preceded her in death July 12, 2022.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Betty Gibbar and Aliene Gibbar.

Lorena will be missed by her friends and family.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce.
