Loren Wood "Woody" Mecham, 76, 31 S. Lorimier, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 1991, at his home.
He was born June 3, 1915, in Cairo, Ill., son of Loren and Jeno Wood Mecham. He and the former Mary Wilson were married Dec. 31, 1945, in Cape Girardeau.
Mecham moved here in 1966 from Malden, and owned Woody's Store at 18 N. Spanish since that time. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, VFW at Malden, and was an honorary member of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity at Southeast Missouri State University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Kandi Mecham of Elkins, Ark., Kristi Earl of South Pasadena, Calif., Kathi York of Cape Girardeau, Laurie Mecham of Carbondale, Ill.; two grandsons and a great-grandson.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Charles Grant will officiate. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. at Malden Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. today.
