MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Loren A. Huffman, 85, of Marble Hill died Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 23, 1924, in Laflin, Mo., son of Lee and Ida Mae Barks Huffman. He and Lois Morrison were married April 12, 1947.

Loren was a lifetime farmer and member of Barks Chapel Church.

He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Lois, of Marble Hill; a son, Randy, of Jackson; two daughters, Phyllis Harris of Brookfield, Kan., Linda Bryan of St. Louis; three sisters, Aleen Garland of Marble Hill, Kathleen Douglas of St. Louis, Ruby Morrison of Murphysboro, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Loren Bradley; four brothers, Ralph, Lawrence, Ray and Lloyd; three sisters, Wanda Jean, Alma Jenkins, Lucille Cook; and a grandson, Tony Riehn.

The funeral was held Saturday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, with the Rev. Mike Huffman officiating. Burial was in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
