PERRYVILLE -- Lonnie W. "Silver" Newell, 59, of Perryville died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at his home.
He was born March 4, 1940, at Silver Lake, son of Manford R. and Rita Gibbar Ruch Newell. He and Carol A. Berkbuegler were married May 25, 1991.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at Silver Lake and was also a VFW booster and member of the Eagles of Perryville.
He is survived by his wife, his mother of Perryville; two daughters, Susan M. Stelling of Frohna and Sharon E. Hartels of Orlando, Fla.; three sons, Bob G. Newell of Ste. Genevieve, David L. Newell and Allen J. Newell, both of Perryville; two brothers, Donald M. Newell of Little Rock, Ark., and Richard Ruch of Perryville; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Miller Family Funeral Home at Perryville. Parish wake service will be at 7 tonight.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at Perryville. The Rev. John Gagnepain will officiate, with burial to follow at the church cemetery.
