Lonnie W. Leigh Jr., 59, of Jackson died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002 at his home. He was born Oct. 27, 1942, in St. Louis County, son of Lonnie W. and Earlie Harrrold Leigh Sr. He was a member of St. James AME Church in Cape Girardeau and a member of the St. Andrew's Masonic Temple in St. Louis. He formerly served as a president of the NAACP in Jefferson County and was a member of the Musician's Local Union in St. Louis...

Lonnie W. Leigh Jr., 59, of Jackson died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002 at his home.

He was born Oct. 27, 1942, in St. Louis County, son of Lonnie W. and Earlie Harrrold Leigh Sr.

He was a member of St. James AME Church in Cape Girardeau and a member of the St. Andrew's Masonic Temple in St. Louis. He formerly served as a president of the NAACP in Jefferson County and was a member of the Musician's Local Union in St. Louis.

Survivors include 15 children, a brother and a sister and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

A memorial service was held Sept. 20 in St. Louis.

Arrangements were by McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
