Lonnie Brockmire, 61, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, July 18, 2011, at his home.
He was born Feb. 26, 1950, in Mesa, Ariz., to William Brockmire Jr. and Mary Deever Brockmire. He and Sharon Ann Kaler were married Dec. 1, 1973, in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in 2005.
Lonnie was a graduate of Central High School before working as an engineer inspector for the Atec Corp. He and his wife lived in Elizabethtown and Louisville, Ky., Melbourne, Fla., and Farmington, Mo., before moving back to Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his stepfather, Weldon Hager of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Sherri Lewis Gikovate of Rio de Janeiro; a brother, Ron Brockmire of Chiefland, Fla.; a nephew, Timothy Brockmire of Smyrna, Ga.; a niece, Patricia Brockmire of Memphis, Tenn.; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Doug Breite officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
