Funeral service for Lona I. Clay of Cape Girardeau will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. David Dissen will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the chapel from 4-6 p.m. today.
Clay, 78, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at her home.
She was born Feb. 6, 1920, in Higdon, Ark., daughter of George T. and Anna Jane Turney Main. She and Jasper E. Clay were married June 26, 1941, in Keiser, Ark. He died Feb. 3, 1964.
Clay was a past member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Arkansas. She had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1985.
Survivors include a son, Michael L. Clay of Cape Girardeau; a stepson, Lamar Whitaker of Elgin, Ill.; a brother, Kit D. Main of Wilson, Ark.; a sister, Oma V. Barnes of Senitobia, Miss.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and brother.
