EAST PRAIRIE -- Lona Adkisson, 94, of East Prairie, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1993, at Gideon Care Center in Gideon. She was born Feb. 21, 1898, in Marion, Ky., daughter of Francis Marion and Minnie Nunn Daniel. She and Carl Eugene Adkisson were married in 1917. He died in April 1968...

EAST PRAIRIE -- Lona Adkisson, 94, of East Prairie, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1993, at Gideon Care Center in Gideon.

She was born Feb. 21, 1898, in Marion, Ky., daughter of Francis Marion and Minnie Nunn Daniel. She and Carl Eugene Adkisson were married in 1917. He died in April 1968.

Adkisson was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, Jack Adkisson of East Prairie; two daughters, Eugenia Royal of Malden, Faye Higgins of Prosser, Wash.; 16 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shelby Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Griffin will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
